Plant tissue culture is a technique to maintain or grow plant cells, tissues or organs under sterile conditions.

It is commonly used to produce clones of a plant in a method known as micropropagation. It is a preferred method because of several advantages such as:

• The ability to produce exact copies of plants
• Production of multiples of plants in the absence of seeds or pollinators
• The regeneration of whole plants from plant cells that have been genetically modified
• Sterile containers reduce contamination spread and incidence
• Can produce pathogen-free plants
• Storage and preservation of genetic plant material

Tissue cultivation produces plants that possess certainty of materials (resulting in a certifiably clean, unfailingly consistent, high-value product), and also provides the means to avoid the disastrous consequences of source materials being wiped out in a natural disaster or crop failure. Meristem TC can produce pathogen-free plants of the highest quality. We can clean up infected plants and return them to you regenerated and stronger than before.

• Regenerated mothers typically show higher growth rates and lower disease susceptibility
• Process takes between 4-6 months to generate new mothers

$5000 per mother, including removal of pathogens such as Hop latent viroid

By signing an offtake agreement, the cost of meristem clean up and genetics storage may be reduced or removed. (Dependent upon size and scope of agreement)
